Retention
When your braces are removed, a very essential part of your treatment begins. This is known as the RETENTION PHASE. It is very important that you wear your retainers as directed by Dr. Shok and his staff.
Usually, your retainers need only to be worn while sleeping. Occasionally, we may ask that you alter this wearing schedule if there were very difficult circumstances involved in the correction of your malocclusion.
Please be sure you and your family fully understand the directions that are given to you at the time your braces are taken off.
Your final orthodontic result depends on your retainers, so follow through with them and keep your smile perfect for a lifetime.
Our office will supervise your retainers and their wearing for 6 months at no additional charge as detailed in your Orthodontic Contract.
